4. Setup
4.1 Connection Modes
The K688 PRO keyboard supports three connection modes: Wired, 2.4G Wireless, and Bluetooth (BT1/BT2/BT3).
4.1.1 Wired Mode
- Connect the provided USB-C cable to the keyboard’s Type-C port.
- Connect the other end of the USB-C cable to a USB port on your computer.
- Ensure the switch on the side of the keyboard is set to ‘Wired’ or ‘OFF’ (depending on model, ‘OFF’ usually means wired when connected).
- The keyboard will be automatically recognized by your system.
4.1.2 2.4G Wireless Mode
- Insert the 2.4G USB receiver into an available USB port on your computer.
- Set the switch on the side of the keyboard to ‘2.4G’.
- The keyboard should connect automatically. If not, press Fn + 4 to initiate pairing.
4.1.3 Bluetooth Mode (BT1/BT2/BT3)
The keyboard can connect to up to three Bluetooth devices simultaneously.
- Set the switch on the side of the keyboard to ‘BT’.
- To select a Bluetooth channel, press and hold Fn + 1 (for BT1), Fn + 2 (for BT2), or Fn + 3 (for BT3) until the indicator light flashes rapidly, indicating pairing mode.
- On your device (PC, tablet, phone), search for Bluetooth devices and select “REDRAGON K688 PRO” (or similar name).
- Once paired, the indicator light will stop flashing.
- To switch between paired Bluetooth devices, simply press Fn + 1, Fn + 2, or Fn + 3.
4.2 Initial Charging
Before first use, it is recommended to fully charge the keyboard. Connect the USB-C cable to the keyboard and a power source (e.g., computer USB port or USB wall adapter). The power LED will indicate charging status.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Combined Function Keys
The keyboard features combined function keys (Fn + F-keys) for various system controls. The functionality may vary slightly between Windows and Mac operating systems.
